Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of different solvent removal strategies on the push-out bond strength of fiber posts to root canal dentin. Materials and Methods: Root canals of 30 extracted maxillary human central incisors were enlarged with TF Adaptive file system (SybronEndo, CA, USA). After root canal obturation, post spaces were prepared to a depth of 8 mm. Then, the adhesive system (ED Primer A + ED Primer B, Kuraray, Tokyo, Japan) application, specimens were randomly assigned into two solvent evaporation strategies as follows APA: 10 s air-blowing, followed by insertion of 60 size absorbent paper point, followed by 10 s additional air-blowing, EV: 10 s air-blowing, followed by 40 sec apical negative pressure by Endo-Vac (Discus Dental, CA, USA) followed by 10 s additional air-blowing. Resin fiber posts (E Hahnenkratt GmbH) were luted with resin cement (Panavia F 2.0, Kuraray) and then light-cured for 40 s from all directions. All specimens were then stored at 95% humidity for 48-h at 37°C. For the push-out test, the roots were embedded in acrylic blocks and sectioned using a water-cooled diamond coated saw. Three 2-mm-thick root slices (coronal, middle and apical) were obtained from each root. Each slice was subjected to the push-out bond strength test at a crosshead speed of 1 mm/min. Results: In comparison of groups there were no statistically significant differences on the push-out bond strength values of fiber post to root canal dentine in the coronal and apical region (p>0.05).
