3-10-01. Intraoperative detection using transcranial electrical stimulated muscle evoked potentials (TcMsEP) of postoperative upper extremity palsies after cervical spine surgery – The difference between C5 and C7 palsies

Although intraoperative TcMsEP monitoring is useful to detect postoperative palsy following spine surgeries, a controversy remains in the detection of segmental upper extremity palsies. In this study, we investigated the difference between C5 and C7 palsies after cervical spine surgeries that were detected by TcMsEP monitoring. This study included 5 patients with C5 palsies and 3 with C7 palsies. TcMsEP monitoring was performed in the biceps brachii, triceps brachii, abductor digiti minimi, and abductor halluces.
