Plasmablastic plasmacytoma-like post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder in an orthotopic liver transplant

A 73-year-old man, with 6-year history of orthotopic liver transplant for end-stage liver disease secondary to chronic hepatitis B, presented with jaundice and pruritis. Laboratory studies revealed cholestasis with elevated total bilirubin (6.4mg/dL) and alkaline phosphatase (>700IU/L). Sonography showed a hypoechoic mass with poor Doppler signal measuring 4–5cm in the left hepatic lobe by the porta-hepatis (Fig. 1A).
