The Syrian crisis has displaced almost five million people in the last five years. Turkey is the main receiving country for Syrian refugees and has become the country hosting the largest number of refugees in the world. Almost three million Syrian refugees are displaced in Turkey. The massive inflow of migrants and refugees poses important challenges to the healthcare services of this country challenging its capacity to cope with refugees' health needs. Refugees face several important barriers accessing healthcare in receiving countries which can increase risks to their health. In response to the Syrian crisis and refugees' influx into Turkey, the World Health Organisation (WHO) Emergency Operation team in Ankara is supporting the Turkish Ministry of Health (MoH) in dealing with refugees' health needs.
