Pulmonary Rehabilitation in a Patient with Bronchiectasis and Underlying Cerebral Palsy: A Case Report

Bronchiectasis is a chronic pulmonary disease characterized by the permanent dilatation of the airways, with recurrent infections. As the disease progresses, extrapulmonary symptoms manifest. If the patient with bronchiectasis has an underlying central nervous system disease such as cerebral palsy (CP), extrapulmonary functions decline faster. The co-occurrence of these two diseases may make care more complex, and there have been no reports about pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) in this class of patients.
