Viewpoint: Adult infective encephalitis - early diagnosis and treatment is imperative.

This manuscript sets out a 'mini' review of the pertinent articles in the literature and to state that early diagnosis of infective encephalitis is poor in clinical practice and sets out how the diagnosis and can be improved by including some of new diagnostic modalities and hypothesises some treatment modalities. It is to create a debate in the scientific community so that a more focussed approach to this clinical entity is taken.
