Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine whether engaging in certain physical activity intensity levels in isolation (e.g., only vigorous exercise) are associated with C-reactive protein (CRP). Methods: Data were extracted from the 1999-2006 NHANES (7,564 adults; 18-50 yrs). CRP was assessed from a blood sample and participants reported whether or not they engaged in moderate-intensity physical activity (MPA), vigorous-intensity physical activity (VPA), or moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA).
