Memantine in the Treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease: 20 Years of Clinical Use

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a widespread neurodegenerative disease characterized by progressive impairment and terminating with severe dementia. Questions of the pathogenesis and diagnosis of AD are discussed here. The efficacy and safety of memantine in AD patients are analyzed in detail. Recommendations on the use of memantine in patients with AD are provided for physicians.
