Modified Vertical Osteotomy Cut in BSSO

alwin shared this article with you from Inoreader
BSSO is the commonly performed orthognathic surgical procedure for the correction of facial deformities. Like any other surgical procedure, it is also associated with risk of complications. One of these complications described in the literature is the notching at the lower inferior border. Such discontinuity in the contour of the lower border is often a concern for the patients. To overcome this complication, we recommend a modified vertical osteotomy cut while performing BSSO. (Source: The British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery)
