In Asia, the proportion of the population with RhD-negative blood is said to be less than 1%. Therefore, it is difficult to obtain RhD-negative packed red blood cells for transfusion in Japan, and there are hardly any hospitals that stock it. We report the case of a patient who required emergency surgery, and after finding that the patient's blood type was RhD negative, we struggled to find a solution.
